Who couldn't love a Wisconsin high school Nirvana cover band-makes-good story?  Kieskagato has morphed from a bunch of young punks playing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in a basement to a Latin and Jazz- influenced indie band touring the country and celebrating the release of a new EP.  Citing influences as diverse as Duke Ellington and Sunny Day Real Estate, Kieskagato brings freshness and energy to the usual four-piece formula.  Point Juncture WA is not a town, it's a sweet, dancable that has been getting some major buzz and playing shows all over town.  The Binary dolls manage to make off-key vocals and odd samples sound not only good, but just right.  These are three of Portland's most promising bands.
